Old American Golf Club To Host Rod Pampling Classic Charity Tournament

(THE COLONY, Texas) – Old American Golf Club – a pure golf experience from award-winning architect Tripp Davis and PGA TOUR player Justin Leonard – will host the 2014 Rod Pampling Classic charity golf tournament, Sept. 29.

Benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the shotgun tournament has a 1 p.m. start with registration at 11:30 a.m. Fellow professional golfers John Senden, Steven Bowditch, Nathan Green, Greg Chalmers, Todd Hamilton, James Nitties, Tag Riding and Carlos Ortiz are scheduled to join Pampling in the field.

A pre-tournament cocktail reception and live auction including special guest entertainment will be held from 6 – 10 p.m. on Sept. 28 at the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord Texan. Tickets are $100 per person.

Auction items up for bid include a trip for two to New York City, dove hunt for 10 participants with Rod Pampling, golf getaway for four to The Players Club at TPC Sawgrass, “ski with an Olympian,” and more.

Last year, the event raised more than $135,000 bringing the overall total of funds generated to more than $1 million.

“We’re honored to join Rod in helping raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” says Mike McCabe, general manager of Old American. “This is a noble cause and we challenge area golfers to sign up and help cure and control this devastating disease.”

PGA TOUR veteran Pampling is a Dallas area resident and sports the Old American logo on his bag. He holds the Old American course record of 66.
