Tribute Partners, L.P. Announces Groundbreaking for The Tribute Shoreline Nature Trail

(The Colony, TX—January 18, 2013)  Seeing “dirt fly” in a new home community isn’t an unusual sight, but residents of The Tribute Lakeside & Golf Resort master planned community will soon see dirt flying on a whole new level. Local and state officials will personally kick-off the start of construction for the new Tribute Shoreline Nature Trail.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the trail is scheduled for Thursday, January 24 at 8:30 am. The event will take place near the Old American Golf Club practice facility, where the new trail will actually diverge from the golf cart path.

“We are very excited to see this new trail started, I cannot wait to walk down to the natural beach,” said Jack Matthews, President of Matthews Southwest, the developer behind The Tribute. “The Tribute Shoreline Nature Trail is going to be a beautiful new amenity for visitors and residents of The Colony, as well as those residing in The Tribute. The city of The Colony, the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, Tribute Partners, L.P. and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers forged a wonderful public/private partnership to develop this scenic new hike and bike trail that will be enjoyed for generations. A big thanks to all involved in this partnership.”

The groundbreaking ceremony will feature remarks from Joe McCourry, mayor of The Colony; Troy Powell, city manager; and Jack Matthews of Matthews Southwest. Other city and state officials are expected to attend and assist with the shoveling of dirt to signify the trail’s construction.
